The Vision:
During the past couple of months of quarantine, I've been finding creative ways to keep shooting, even though many of my paid gigs have slowed down. Yesterday was a bit unconventional—it was chicken day! Thanks to the lively urban chicken community in West Seattle, I was able to put together this shoot on a whim. With my pop-up studio in tow, I set up shop in a neighbor's garage, ready to capture some fun moments with these feathery friends.

Behind the Scenes:
The chickens took turns strutting their stuff in front of the camera, each one bringing their own unique personality to the shoot. Some were calm and posed, while others seemed more eager to explore. It was a challenge to keep up, but every moment was full of laughter and spontaneity. After the shoot, the chickens returned to their cozy yard, and I dove into post-production work, which became my personal therapy during these times. It’s incredible how easy it is to lose yourself in editing, experimenting with different styles and techniques to make each shot pop.

The result? A collection of vibrant, playful images that capture the unique character and charm of urban chickens. I couldn’t help but grin from ear to ear as I worked on these shots. There’s something so refreshing about finding joy in unexpected moments. I hope these images bring a smile to your face too!

Final Results:
While this shoot was certainly out of the ordinary, it reminded me of the power of creativity and adaptability—even in challenging times. The images from this quirky session were a blast to edit, and they serve as a fun reminder of how creative photography can thrive, no matter the circumstances.
